In the MIDI Effect Rack, you'll create the chains again for each pad you plan to use "Kick", "Snare", etc. Drag a MIDI Effect Rack before the VST device. Select "Show/Hide Devices" to Show and click on Superior Drummer VST. In Chain List, create Chains to name each pad (like "Kick" on C1, "Snare" on D1, etc.). Show Chain List and Input/Output Selection on Drum Rack and change Receive from that pad to "All Notes" at top of drop down list box. I am open for other ideas or suggestions.Ĭreate a drum rack, and drop Superior Drummer on any pad. I could have used Superior Drummer to remap the drums, but some other drum VSTs might not have that option. But then you'd be using an extra Instrument Rack for no good reason. This way you could do the remapping in a similar way with a MIDI Effect rack. You could also place the VST and Drum Rack onto an Instrument Rack. I don't like this because you have to create a whole bunch of tracks that clutter up the work area (I don't like it even if they are grouped). The only thing I don't like about it is if you manually click on a drum rack pad, it doesn't make any sound.Īnother method is to have the VST on a track, then route from the drum rack through the track. This method uses Ableton to remap the drums all inside the drum rack and is a more generic solution. I've been on the hunt to find the best way to use the Superior Drummer VST with the Ableton Live Drum Rack. fix for spurious appearance of non-working EZX POPROCK sometimes when EZdrummer 2 or its demo was installed. This post is inspired by /u/Blendrix 's post "Best of both worlds: Drum Rack w/ dedicated audio mixer channel for each hit" and Some MIDI Effects Racks for Superior Drummer 2.0. fix for crash when setting path to S1 libs. fix for rare situation where an EZX1 could get stuck in an unauthorized state. Should now reset only selected drums and not 'Fix' anything else by mistake. Unwanted focus grabbing in ProTools improved. Support for upcoming EZX sound libraries crash avoided if default lib is somehow broken enough to warrant a warning but that warning never get's the time to display before another lib is loaded. If there was a folder with presets among the user presets and this folder got sorted to be last in the menu, then any preset created during a session could not be deleted. E-drum MIDI presets somewhat adjusted to harmonize with EZdrummer 2. changing MIDI as numbers immediately updates the current assigned keys menu. tempo changes now better handled when bouncing through mixer. This affects only some of the EZX black boxes that react to tempo changes.
